I'm really sorry, that I haven't written for such a long time. University is keeping me very busy at the moment and since chrismas is also drawing nearer, I've gotta knit lots of presents. Anyways, this time I decided to take part in a lottery from Nokia where you can win a brand new N8. I already possess a 5230 and really love it (it's so customizable). But a new phone would also be a great chrismas present for me. Especially since it would be very nice to be able to use my university's w-lan access points. The task was to write a short text about how you would use a N8 to stay in touch with your friends during the holidays. Well, here's what I'd do:

If I had a N8, I’d use it to share my Christmas-market experiences with my family and friends. Here in Germany, Christmas-markets are always a big deal with lots of colorful lights, christmas-trees, music, roasted sugar-almonds and many other things. We often spent the evenings standing together with friends at a hot wine vendor. But every market is a bit different from the others. While one has especially yummy hot spiced wine for example, another is famous for its “Christkindl”. So since I don’t study in my hometown, it would be great if I could show my friends from university the customs of my hometown and vice versa.  I really love to photograph and would take some pictures to put them up on facebook for example. Another thing I’d do is recording some of the different chimes songs. I hope that this way I might be able to enjoy Christmas with all my family and friends together. And I guess a N8 would also help me with my preparations for New Year’s Eve since I’ll be staying in a hut in the forest with the scouts until the 31st and therefore won’t be able to get in touch with my friends until I return exactly in the evening of said day.

Today, when I returned to my room in Würzburg, I found two dead flies on the floor. Really big, fat flies. And just now, another one is buzzing around my lamp. I tried to show the poor thing the exit but somehow it insisted on continuing playing kamikaze. Hmm...I wonder why there are so many flies here. My flatmate also just found one in her room. But we are sure that we left nothing rotten here.

...and so another day of returning to university draws near. The last week was also kinda exhausting. Lots of reading assignments and so much stuff to remember. I was really glad when I arrived home on friday and finally had some time for myself. Yesterday, we went to Marienbad and visited my grandma's grave because this year All Saints' Day will be on the monday, my parents and I will drive stuff to Würzburg.
And today...well, it's Halloween but so far we only had two groups of trick or treaters.
And oh...I found out that there is a new season of Digimon! I really loved that series when I was a kid.
And ouch...my bursa still seems to be inflamed. Now even my ankle hurts.
And last but not least remains the hamster question: Would it be too much stress for Mr Bogart to be taken to and fro Würzburg every semester break?

Yesterday, went shopping in Würzburg for the first time. Well, you couldn't actually call it shopping since I only bought some essential stuff instead of clothes but nevertheless looking through the shops was kinda fun. Würzburg seems so much bigger than Bamberg and has a lot more shops. Awww~ there were so many things I wanted to buy...but methinks it's also more expensive than my hometown. In the end, I returned home with a pair of white, fluffy gloves from a 1€-Store (it's already very cold here in the mornings), some hairpins coz my bangs tend to hang in my eyes, two sleeping-masks (one for me and one for my flatmate) and some groceries for dinner. Unfortunately I didn't find a good calender for university. They had either too less space for singular days or were too expensive...so I've gotta continue looking.
When I finally arrived home (I got lost again in the process of doing so), I made diner for my flatmates and me. It consisted of noodles with salmon-carrot sauce and quincies with honey for desert. Luckily they liked it.

Phew...at the moment everything seems to move so fast. I hardly have time for writing, reading or knitting coz universitiy keeps me occupied. Although I just got up because I have off today, I still feel like there's a heavy weight on my shoulders. Later I'll drive to town in order to buy a sleeping-mask. The earplugs are great against the ticking but there's still the problem with my giant roof window. Since I'm used to sleeping in complete darkness, I now wake up at 4 am because they don't sell blinds for this kind of window. Argh!

Heh, this vid kinda reminds me of my current situation:

Well, today is the first day of my longest stay in Würzburg so far. From now till next friday, I'll sleep in my new room.
Whaaaa~ I'm so excited that I'm finally on my own. Now my room ist almost complete. And since today, I also got internet. I'm really curious how tomorrow's first-semester welcome weekend will turn out.

OMG! I just found an old e-mail account of mine, I totally forgot about.
And guess what awaited me: 3 years worth of spam! Heh, but it's fun to delete 503 unread mails with just one click.

Some time ago, I couldn't resist and bought a new yarn from my local yarn store. It's called Can Can by Rico Design and quite lacy and feeble. But don't ask me how tiring it is to knit a scarf with it. You've got to stretch the yarn before every stitch and it also keeps twisting all the time. Brrr... But now I can finally proudly present the evil scraf of doom. Luckly, I still have half the ball left so I can make a second scarf as a christmas present for mum.

Oh, and I also started a new project which I'll show you soon.

Heh, today I watched the rest of Maria-sama ga Miteru's first season. Even though I've read all of the novels which are available in Germany, I completly forgot about the anime. So I had much to catch up with. But now I feel happy and satisfied. Methinks, that it's a very poetical and relaxing series. The piano background music is very nice and so are the characters. Even though I'm not very used to shojo anime, I like the way how it's driven by its characters' stories...even if there isn't any "action" in it. I wish there would've been something like a soeur system at my old school, too.

Now that I'll start studying soon, I realized that my current notebook is a bit heavy and furthermore only has about one hour of battery time. Not very good for using it during lectures. So I figured that I might need a netbook. But the question is: where to get the money and which one should I buy. Now I'm almost done with convincing my tech-loving dad but the second question still remains.
Well, and today I fell in love with this nifty device: The Entourage Edge It combines an E-book reader and a netbook and runs on Android which means cool apps and stuff. But sadly there's a huge price difference between the US and Europe. While it costs 549$ (aprox 394€) in the US, you have to pay 570€ over here. Grrr...where does that difference come from?
